About Our Bariatric Program

Woman's before and after gastric sleeve surgery weight loss

You have made the decision to change your life.

These steps will help guide you through the pre-surgery process.

Your insurance company has set forth certain guidelines and criteria you must complete prior to surgery.

A) You must complete a 3 or 6 month medically supervised weight loss program.
B) You must meet with a registered dietitian.
C) You must complete a psychological evaluation.
D) You must complete a PT/OT evaluation.

Your surgeon’s office will send out the necessary referrals needed for you to complete this process. If there are any additional evaluations required such as; cardiac clearance, or pulmonary clearance, your surgeon will let you know and send out the referrals as indicated.

Please contact your surgeon’s office if you have any questions or concerns during this process.

Please note, once you start the medically supervised weight loss program you must complete the 3 or 6 months of consecutive visits. Your insurance company will require you to complete extra visits if you skip a month.

Self-Pay Options

When you don’t have bariatric insurance coverage there is still the option of self-pay.  There are cash and credit line options we offer.

Contact our office, schedule your consultation and in that appointment we will share the total cost and breakdown of payments. For example, a gastric balloon surgery runs approximately $8,000 with a cash self-pay price.

We recommend CareCredit to help patients finance a surgical weight loss surgery.

CareCredit is a credit card designed exclusively to pay for healthcare services. Unlike a loan, it offers an existing line of credit that you can use over and over again to pay for services that your insurance provider won’t cover.

To apply for CareCredit, visit the website and fill out the application. You get a decision instantly. You are more likely to be approved with a minimum FICO score of 623.
