Meet Our Bariatric Care Team

Dr. Sigi Joseph is a board-certified in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery. He completed his surgical residency from University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) and thereafter completed fellowship in Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas.

Dr. Joseph served at Bothwell Regional Hospital in Sedalia, Missouri from July 2012 to June 2015 where he had established a Surgical Weight Loss (Bariatric) program. Dr. Joseph completed MRCS General Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, United Kingdom.

He is a graduate from St. John’s Medical College, Bangalore, India, where he also completed MS General Surgery. Dr. Joseph moved to United Surgical Associates in August 2015, and in affiliation with Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, Missouri, established a bariatric surgery program as well as the United Bariatric Center where he practices.

Dr. Joe Radzevich is a distinguished general, minimally invasive, and bariatric surgeon with a comprehensive background in medical education and professional experience. Beginning his educational journey at the University of Kansas, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Human Biology, where he not only excelled academically, making the Honor Roll in 2008, 2010, and 2011, but also showcased his leadership skills as a founding member of the Phi Delta Epsilon International Premedical Fraternity. Dr. Radzevich furthered his education at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, obtaining a Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences, followed by a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree.

After his medical studies, Dr. Radzevich completed a traditional rotating internship and a general surgery residency at Inspira Medical Center in Vineland, NJ, where he also contributed as the Coordinator for the General Surgery Student Clerkship, demonstrating his commitment to medical education and leadership. His pursuit of excellence in surgery led him to Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, where he completed an Advanced GI and Minimally Invasive Surgery Fellowship, honing his skills in state-of-the-art surgical techniques.

Board-certified in general surgery, Dr. Radzevich has specialized expertise in bariatric, robotic, and hernia surgeries. His proficiency includes a wide range of bariatric procedures such as sleeve gastrectomy, bypass, SADI-S, and revisions. Known for his highly motivated and dedicated approach, Dr. Radzevich has made significant contributions to the field of surgery, particularly in advanced laparoscopic and bariatric procedures. His passion for teaching and mentoring the next generation of medical professionals was evident during his time as a tutor in Anatomy at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, further highlighting his commitment to the medical community.
